Chromosomal distribution of the polymorphic Alu Yb elements. The physical location of each Alu Yb insertion polymorphism is shown. The polymorphic Alu elements were classified as: high (HF), intermediate (IF) or low (LF) frequency insertion polymorphisms, as outlined in the text. The Alu elements identified on the sex chromosomes have been reported previously [21].
