Structure of the cholesteryl ester transfer protein ( CETP ) gene and polymorphic markers. The CETP gene is located on chromosome 16 and contains a number of polymorphisms which have been identified through dense resequencing. These polymorphisms occur at differing frequencies in various ethnic populations, as shown in the accompanying table. In this table, the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker is identified and the db SNP identifier along with other common names for the SNP and minor allele frequencies for Caucasians and African Americans (Af. Amer.) [38].
