Sequence alignments of the CCN proteins. Human sequence alignment was performed using the ClustalW2 multiple sequence alignment program. The sections of the sequences corresponding to each domain are highlighted using a different color. CCN proteins share 38 conserved cysteine residues (in red). The exceptions are CCN5 and CCN6, which contain 28 and 34 cysteine residues, respectively
